Actions are our epochs mine Have made my days and nights imperishable, Endless, and all alike, as sands on the shore, Innumerable atoms.
Quoting The poem s narrative line is not enough to organize in the plot, because the attention deviate from external events to meet almost exclusively on the inner experience that unfolds on stage, unique and authentic, located in the consciousness of the protagonist Causing a claustrophobic effect, the text focalization incomparably lyrical than dramatic highlights the centrality, the radical isolation and the tragic condition of Manfredo character, incapable of intimate figure changes or, eve [...]

The Byronic hero is deftly explored here, as in Childe Harold, but in a way which lends to a reading that this poem is Byron s confession of his forbidden love affair with his half sister Augusta But what is there to say about this classic, really The prose is arresting and Manfred is inspiring, a character through life found no affinity with human beings and bucked the status quo at every turn Manfred strives to be the quintessential Nietzschean superman, valuing the forgetfulness of past indis [...]
I love Lord Byron and yes this was a reread too as I had written my midterm on it and now I m writing my final on it and yes I m comparing it to the Mariner in terms of the sublime and the supernatural I m terribly original and smart I know let me live,,Can y all believe this messy bitch slept with his sister then wrote a whole emo confessional about it mood except not really because I m an only child and not as thirsty, not to shame but,

My dwelling is the shadow of the night,Why doth thy magic torture me with light Pergunta o Sexto Esp rito invocado por Manfredo De um modo delicado o sublime sabor da poesia v o se alternando as vozes em torno da dor do protagonista Manfredo exaspera a dor da mem ria a dolorosa culpa e o sofrimento da perda est o no centro das suas tormentas No longo poema vivemos entre dois mundos, f sico e metaf sico, rompendo as barreiras da ci ncia e da l gica vivemos envoltos num manto de neblina e sorvemos [...]
While this poem had some of the most quotable lines ever I didn t really like all the supernatural elements in it Hence my modest rating The only person who get s a pass with ghost stories is Shakespeare Because in Hamlet it was like the icing on the cake In this story however it felt overdone Ye were not meant for me Earth, take these atoms Classic Lord Byron Love it.

tis not so difficult to die What a fascinating quote from a character whose great triumph of independence is choosing death Why doesn t he say, Choosing death has been a hard decision and will be an incredible sacrifice No, he says it wasn t that hard to do This is a marvelous and haunting poem, one of Lord Byron s great works I revisit it from time to time And I recommend it whether you are a Byron fan or not.My favorite passage is Manfred s great monologue in Act III about a night visit to the [...]
The plot Manfred s title character broods over mysterious feelings of despair and ennui, calls up spirits of Nature, persuades the forces of evil to call up his dead love in a futile attempt to set his soul at peace The drama ends with his death, of course, and his friends wonder where his soul is headed whither I dread to think The appeal How could such a despicably loathsome rake like Lord Byron write such exquisite poetry The lines in Manfred are keen and clear, lyrical and lovely Reading thi [...]
One word poetic If you love Romantic motifs, this one is a must read.
Classical poetry with a bit of a supernaturally gothic twist

Reading this made me like Manfred Symphony than I did already I had no idea that was possible The poem was everything I expected and then some.
What an incredibly Faustian story Interesting to read alongside Prometheus Unbound such different takes on independence.
Great development of the Faustian character and exquisite phrasing.
Praise be to Lord Byron
Read for uni.Not bad but Emo AF If I had never lived, that which I loveHad still been living had I never loved,That which I love would still be beautiful Happy and giving happiness.
Not my favorite of Byron s work but enjoyable nonetheless.
Short, to the point, beautifully written, and full of an ever accelerating, transcendent sort of intensity in feeling and thought One of those in between mixtures of Romanticism and the Gothic, and in my opinion a must read for fans of both.
Before I read Manfred, I had read quite a few Classic Gothic novels and I can tell you that this closet drama written by Byron gave me chills and overwhelmed me much , a thousand times than any Gothic story I have ever read One of the very best poems I have ever read and I very highly recommend it.Once again Lord Byron is the god of poetry
I think I would like to see the play and or the BBC dramatization performance of this piece
an awesome poetic drama in the Promethean tradition
Manfred is a metaphysical closet drama about a man tormented by an all consuming and nameless anguish The source of that anguish remains intentionally and problematically vague, so that one feels as though the play can t be read anyway BUT biographically at times Subtracting from the play s narrative soundness and therefore its capacity to impact readers is a fundamental ambiguity as to whether or not Manfred s dilemma arises from his Faustian acquisition of some horrible knowledge about the tru [...]
After reading an excerpt of Byron s Manfred in a collection of his poetry, I knew I had to read the full closet drama It is a fascinating work that develops ideas of spirits, power originating from oneself instead of from gods or nature, dying on your own terms, trying to forget past sins, living a life without the need for a final redemption The Poetry Foundation s biography of Byron says its main theme is defiant humanism, and I find those words perfect Many have speculated that Manfred s horr [...]
