The story was good, but the use of words and language wow Several sentences that I had to stop and savor in their surprising beauty I love that kind of writing.

WHO GAVE THIS LESS THAN FIVE STARS I m sorry, but you re either a prude or you re repressed or something just wasn t going your way when you read it Because this is an absolutely perfect work of short fiction Maybe the best thing The New Yorker has published this decade.
This was a story that erupted in my mind Extraordinary writing, extraordinary conceptualisation unexpected, raw, real so real I almost cringed with embarrassment and recognition I listened to this story on The Writer s Voice I will definitely read this story again and examine its construction and execution closely A very powerful piece.
More of a slow burner, taking the time to build up atmosphere and mood and develop characters, but like with a lot of the author s work, if you dislike either the writing or the characters, it can be very hard to get around that to engage with the story.
