It took me a while to finish this book It s the kind of books you really need to read twice or to finally comprehend the writer s word Some sentences you can quickly pass by and some really need thinking and understanding Dan Millman is clever and a very wise writer He really showed some wise ideas and pattern of thinking or the laws of spirit as he wishes to call them The 12 ideas he mentioned each are supported with several examples for the reader to comprehend them However, as the sage in th [...]
Easy read Skimmed through it Knew most of what s in the book from previous books More suitable for first time readers about wisdom life Free will means that you can choose to abide by the laws that speak within your deepest intuition or you can let impulses, fears and habits run the show Pain has many faces, no matter what life dishes out you get to choose how you will internally respond, you can resist and resent it, bemoaning your fate or you can face and embrace it, expanding into the moment [...]
Rating 3 5Unlike most other self transformation or new age depending on how old you are read actually tells a story while giving you the laws of the spirit Like most books in its catagory, the same message is given, just worded differently than those that came before it Just like Waiting for Autumn, the book is about a man who meets a sage who has lived several lives and takes him on a journey through woods and mountians All the while the man realizes how clueless he is As someone who is well re [...]
I usually love books in this new age philosophy genre, but this book was not for me It took me under and hour to read it, it s only 100 pages, which I think may have been part of the problem This is a fable of a mans journey through the laws of spirit that all should live by to have a full life I thought that the description of each law was informational than the lesson demonstrating it It was flowery and didn t really say much of anything I was left wanting to know and wanting fewer cliche s [...]
For such a small book, it packs a spiritual wallop At least in my case It takes you through a journey with a person seeking the answers to the questions we all seek, and gives comfort, focus, and goals setting skills , if you choose to use them I would recommend this book as a follow up to the Peaceful Warrior trilogy I count Socrates Journey in the trilogy It helps to wrap all the Peaceful Warrior lessons into a concise little package that you can review time and again. Was quite helpful to me in [...]
I felt this book was an interesting book and a easy way to get in touch with living to your truth It has been told as a fable, which I feel can have of a impact sometimes, because you follow along with a story picking up wisdom as you go I found myself high lighting some of the quotes as I went along, which to me must be a good sign Overall, a good book and a well told story, especially If you are beginning on your spiritual path.

This was a great book I ll read over over again It s exactly the way I see life I found myself agreeing with what I was reading, as it resonated w in my own spirit I look 4ward 2 reading of Dan Millman s books.
Though I know the author well, this simple book has a powerful message
I absolutely love this book It supports me when I have questions or need some other perspective on a situation The laws of spirit is a book that can be read daily, or a book study with close friends to discuss the reading I don t even put this book on the shelf I keep it near my reading chair, as I use it often It really helps me in making decisions It give me a sort of purpose on becoming the person I want to be I This world.
If you have read the Shack then you will enjoy reading to quick, easy, straight, and to the point read I learned so much in such a short time about the spirit This book is not boring at all The mini lessons of explanation you would think would be pure common sense, but we as human flesh make things so much difficult All I could do was laugh So worth the 110 page read My kind of book.
Although this is a book to help you discover yourself, it seems too simple Full of a lot of adages that you could post at your desk.
I love this book I haven t read a work of fiction in quite sometime I prefer works taken right out of the pages of life, memoirs, psychology, spirituality, how to, self help, business Millman however did an excellent job of weaving a fictional tale around true to life spiritual precepts that can be applied instantly and daily I found a lot of parallels to my Buddhist practice Though just a tad over 100 pages I made it a slow read as I found each Law described was poignant enough to digest in tha [...]
Had been meaning to read this book by Dan Millman for a few years and just could never get into it Finally, last month, I read it for a yoga teacher class We delved quite deeply into the small book and were asked to make tangible connections from the concepts and ideas in the book to our lives, our teaching, and our own experience I am glad it was part of a yoga curriculum otherwise I cold have seen myself skimming though it and blithely moving on.Small book Big, juicy concepts Simply written.
This book is wonderful I found it while at a bed and breakfast on a book shelf It was with so many other books and it just seemed to pull me to it.Seriously.When I opened it I began to laugh It was as if the sage of the book guided me in such a timely manner to find it I carry it with me on trips and re read it again and again There are so many laws of life in it and uniquely written to captivate your mind.
Why did I love this so much It s TINY, EASY and I guess after reading a plethora of bulky, intense, spiritual self help type books this was a BREATH of FRESH AIR I just loved the simple story of a man being taken up the mountain in a part he never knew existed and learned some of the most enlightened lessons life can offer Such a simple way to display so many profound truths GREAT little book
This is one of those little treasures that you want to keep on your shelf to read every once in a while Dan Millman condensed 12 universal laws into a wonderfully written yet easy to read story It offers many insights and good reminders to apply to our lives If you liked the Peaceful Warrior series, you will love this litte book.
Lovely short read on important lessons of life written in a novel style However, for me it was a little bit of a repeat for things I ve already read Had I picked this up years ago, it might have seemed life changing Even with it being things I ve already heard of it, it was still an enjoyable read.
A book passed to me by my 78 yr old spiritual sister slash dogsitter Easily accessible presentation of laws such as unity, integrity, cycles, expectation, compassion, faith Dan Millman s Way of the Peaceful Warrior was the very first piece of spiritual literature I read, back in college Glad he still keeps it refreshingly simple, although I didn t experience any new insights here.
It was a memorable journey and enjoyable read I didn t find any of the laws that profound, though there was some great wisdom scattered throughout I would recommend this book to anyone on their own spiritual journey of evolution and those interested in higher knowledge, wisdom and truth.A solid 8 10.
While somewhat short I read it n about two hours , the book explores some general truths about life that came at the perfect time for me as I am in the midst of a big period of change and reflection in my life I think that the ideas contained within pass through the minds of us all at some point and being reminded of them from time to time is a good way to center oneself.
Many new agers will find nothing new here Also this is basically a summary of the same principles mentioned in his larger book, The Life You Were Born To Live, which is worth reading for a better understanding of these principles Read the laws section of that one first, then this one for examples to illustrate.
I love Dan Millman and I appreciate his story, a lot But I did not like this book, not a bit Maybe I was expecting much stuff like eye opening, life changing inspiring words in stories Anyways, I sincerely advice readers to watch the movie The Peaceful Warrior instead based on Dan Millman s story.
A simple yet powerful book Told in the form of a parable, the book answers the question of what are the most important principles for living, imparting wisdom on the laws of balance, choice, process, presence, compassion, faith, expectation, integrity, action, cycle surrender and unity Definitely a book to be read and re read.
Meh I had to read it for a class. So I love chocolate except when it is presented to me as mousse This book is like chocolate mousse to me I basically live by the ideas inside of it but it s presentation isn t my cup of tea It came off very mystical and pseudoscience ish That is just how I look at it though I imagine I m an anomaly when it comes to this kind of stuff.
short and sweet Easy read, but very good content Good beginner book for those seeking reading on spirituality and inner balance Wish I hadn t given my hard copy away, it was nice to flip through to refer back to his points.
Many of us have read Dan Millman s The Way of the Peaceful Warrior but here is another by Mr Millman that takes a different approach to many similar lessons I liked this approach Short read but makes you think.
This book reminded me that, with material like this, continuous reading and reflecting is important I hadn t picked anything up like this in a long time, but as soon as I had read a few pages, thoughts of peace that linger in the back of my mind came to the front.
this is a great story that brings you through the laws of the universe i keep this book on my coffee table to thumb through constantly to remind myself of those laws, Millman makes this book fun by adding a fun sage character to bring you through the depths of the universe and its process.
