I wish this would ve been included in the books because whereas I just expected it to be light and happy, it confronts the dark and problematic past of their relationship Damen Laurent continue to be two of the most fleshed out and vivid characters I ve read about, and Pacat s writing is so detailed and clever and putting down this book made me crave books that get me attached to characters because I miss such angsty and tangible character dynamics like this
I enjoyed the Captive Prince trilogy, but I always felt the end of Kings Rising was a tad unfinished abrupt So when a friend told me this short story was available I had to read it.It s the perfect epilogue to this series Period.

This really is a belated Christmas present, and surely what must be one of the most epic epilogues ever I just sat, totally spellbound again , surrounded by visions of a Roman type villa in the midst of height summer, virtually smelling the sweet oils , the heavy scent of pines and exotic flowers, mingling with the mellow sea air I could see the sun sparkling on gently rolling waves of water in the distance and hear the hum of busy insects and the gentle chirping of crickets and cicadas C.S Paca [...]
